On Wednesday the 16th of October we held the Blaenau Gwent Volunteer Awards at Llanhilleth Miners Institute.
We had a wonderful evening showcasing the amazing work of just some of the many volunteers of Blaenau Gwent. We hope you all felt the recognition that you fully deserve.
Without volunteers, our community groups and activities wouldn't be able to continue. Many individuals and families benefit from the work of volunteers and their lives would be different without their support.
Caragh Porter - Adult Volunteering Officer.
It was my third year organising the awards, and each year I continue to be overwhelmed by the stories I read about in the nominations. I do not envy the panel that have to make the decisions on who will be our winners and highly commended volunteers.
This year I got to introduce Keri to some of the planning for the volunteer awards, and as a new member of staff she was really impressed by the work that volunteers do the community.
Keri Jones - Youth Volunteering Officer.
Congratulations again to all of our winners, highly commended volunteers, and also those that were nominated but were not shortlisted.
We look forward to next year!
