23rd September
Our final guests into the studio were Joleane Martin from ...and breathe who was nominated on behalf of the work she does with the Bettws based group that provides a breathing space and support group for families who have neurodivergent children and the challenges they may face from society.
Joleane is a passionate advocate for equality and uses the social model of disability to help support a more inclusive society.
Joleane is nominated in the Family Champion category.
We were also joined by Bethan Collins from Circus of Positivity CiC in the Trustee, Volunteer Director category.
Circus of Positivity deliver circus performance-based skills and activities which are proven to help individuals wellbeing by learning a new skill or providing a fresh challenge that requires full and focussed concentration within a fun environment.
Bethan herself plays a key role behind the scenes in a number of admin areas normally not seen by others.
21st September
Celebrating their third birthday this month RE:MAKE Newport popped into the studio for a chat about the work they do to help our city's residents save money and stop things headed to landfill through their groundbreaking facility right in the heart of the city centre.
Hayley and Toni spoke about the amazing team of volunteers they have at the shop who have given up thousands of hours to help people repair broken items or delivered training courses to help others become skilled to carry out repairs at home.
It's no surprise to see them nominated in the Environmental category and a big part of the reason Newport and Wales score so highly in world recycling tables.
17th September
Girlguiding Gwent County Commissioner, Dawn Clayton joined Sam and Lamsie in the Studio to talk about Anthony and Bev Stead who are nominated in the Family Champion category for the GAVO Newport Volunteering Awards.
The couple play a vital role within Girl Guiding Gwent supporting 1900 members enjoying regular activities and helping young people to connect with the great outdoors by sharing a wide range of skills they have.

14th September
The latest guests into the studio were Jenny & Steve from Active Angels who are nominated in the health & wellbeing award at the upcoming GAVO Newport volunteering awards.
The group formed in 2014 to support over 50's wellbeing and currently support menopausal women through dance-based activities, now in its 10th year the group have gained charity status and are continuing to find new and exciting ways to support people to remain active and healthy.
27th September
Our Volunteering Officer was joined in the studio this week by Sarah from Wild About Rogerstone who have been nominated in the Environmental category of the upcoming GAVO Newport Volunteering Awards.
Wild about Rogerstone supports people to improve and encourage wildlife and gardening within the local community through a community garden.

This week Billy and Judith from Cynefin Pamoja came into the studio to talk about the group's nomination in The Community Advocate award which recognises those individuals who contribute to the community by helping people, and groups to find a place where they feel like they are part of something, respected by others and feel valued.
Cynefin Pamoja is a vibrant community group for African and Caribbean, a hub for cultural exchange, an advocate for environmental sustainability and a nurturing space for youth development.
15th September
We were Joined by Abi from St Davids Hospice to talk about the amazing work Emma does to support the charities work as part of her nomination into the Inspirational Journey Award. The award is an incredibly special award for the individuals who the standout from the rest and take their volunteering responsibilities to another level. This award would be given to individuals who the judging panel feel are a true inspiration to us all.
