Newport Local Nature Partnership Small Grants Scheme 2024/2025

Newport Local Nature Partnership are excited to offer the LNP Small Grants Scheme to local organisations and community groups across Newport.

The aim of this scheme is to create local assets for biodiversity which can include creating/improving habitat, increasing recording of species, promoting ecosystem resilience, and increasing opportunities for education and engagement with nature.

The funding is open to applications from all constituted groups and organisations that aim to deliver an asset for biodiversity in a public space within the Newport authority area. The LNP Small Grants Scheme is part of the larger Local Places for Nature project, funded by Welsh Government and administered by the Wales Council for Voluntary Action.

You can apply for anything between £500 - £3,500 of funding that can be applied for per project. The application will then be reviewed by the panel, and all or some of the items/funds requested may be awarded if successful.

The panel will consist of various members of the LNP steering group who will score each application against the project outcomes and grant criteria.

The deadline for applications is the 01/11/2024. All project costs must be met by 14/02/2025, and a commitment to maintain the assets for a minimum of 5 years following the investment.
